Helena Fann is a painter, sculptor and all-around artist currently based in South Africa. Helena matriculated from the Johannesburg School of Art, Ballet & Music, and quickly dived into the world of art. During her final year in school, she was commissioned to illustrate a children’s book, and after school got hired to work for the display department of a large company to design posters and building props for window displays. After marriage and the birth of her son, she used her entrepreneurial skills to start her own advertising and promotions company. She moved to Cape Town, South Africa in 1993, where she was able to pursue her passion for drawing and painting and build a name for herself as the inspirational painter she is today.
She specializes in acrylics, but also enjoys mixed media and dry media, like colored pencils and pastels. Her love for acrylics is because of it’s versatility and the striking image it creates.
Since starting her painting career, she has been apart of many exhibitions all over South Africa and Dubai, and is the sole author of many collections. She has also been commissioned for multiple public art pieces and won many awards for publicly displayed art pieces.
