Artist / Painter

Helena Fann

I love exploring new ways of doing things, trying out new mediums, even new styles.  There is so much to learn and explore in the art world, one will never exhaust all the possibilities!  Even making the simplest creative little things gives me pleasure.  I’m truly one of the lucky people who can live my passion!

Helena Fann is a painter, sculptor and all-around artist currently based in South Africa. Helena matriculated from the Johannesburg School of Art, Ballet & Music, and quickly dived into the world of art. After marriage and the birth of her son, she used her entrepreneurial skills to start her own advertising and promotions company. In 1993 she moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where she was able to pursue her passion for drawing and painting and build a name for herself as the inspirational painter she is today. She also spent years in Dubai, UAE, exhibiting at a number of pristine events and completing many commissions for clients.

She specializes in acrylics, but also enjoys mixed media and dry media, like colored pencils and pastels. Her love for acrylics is because of it’s versatility and the striking image it creates.

  • Helena Fann’s art is both talent and emotive. She has a subtle stroke with her brush. She transcends the oil to the canvas as if it were alive. Here we have an artist who centers her life studies with a bold use of light. Thus creating depth and vivaciousness.

  • Sensuality is well expressed in forms such as those clothed in the leopard skin and the giraffe skin. By depicting only a part of the female form, essential characteristics of each animal can be inferred. The graceful power of the leopard and the serene elegance of the giraffe are subtly expressed.
